Amy and Matt’s relationship began in Blacksburg, Virginia at The Cellar. Easy conversation and similar interests brought them back together again and again. (Hokies football being the biggest!) Three years later they tied the knot!
Amy and Matt’s wedding took place at the beautiful and elegant Burlington Plantation in Charles City, Virginia. Anywhere we pointed our camera was beautiful, bright, and new. It truly is a stunning place to film at! Matt and his groomsmen played some Mario Kart and got ready in the loft of the main building while Amy and her bridesmaids got ready in their own private cottage on the property. Again, all beautiful. Before the ceremony, Matt and Amy shared a first look and personal vows together. This year we’ve had more couples sharing their personal vows together alone before the ceremony and absolutely love it! It allows for an intimate moment before the ceremony and it always ends up being great audio and footage captured. Another part of the day we have seen more couples doing this year is sharing one last dance alone together as their guests begin to line up for their exit. Alex and I did this at our wedding so, it always brings back memories when we get to film other couples soaking up the last few minutes of their special day.
My favorite part of the day:
Their entrance to the reception! Matt works at Virginia Tech, so it would be pretty much illegal for them not to enter to “Enter Sandman.” It got lit! It was also great shooting at a beautiful new venue we had never been at before and working along side an awesome vendor team.
Congrats Amy + Matt!!
